Our guide showed us the hot and cold of Albuquerque. We started our sightseeing in Rinconada Canyon, part of the Petroglyph National Monument . A 2.5 mile trail doesn't sound like a lot until one is half way and the soft sand is burning your soles while the sun and wind whisk every bit of moisture away. After this it was time for water and a nap. Upon waking we made our way to Sandia Crest . Elevation 10, 678 ft. Temperatures dipped and I grabbed my jacket. One is level with the clouds. Our guide warned us that rain would mean seeing only the tops of them. With wildfires burning in Santa Fe, we cheered when it briefly rained. It cleared before our arrival. Perhaps I should not mention how fun the drive up was. When we caught up to the sedan in front of us, we pulled aside to give ourselves room to play. It is high enough that breathing is labored. Or was that the view?
In 1984 I saw the Grateful Dead on City Island. A friend unknowingly dropped his shirt. A stranger grabbed it and ran to catch up to him and return it. My friend was stunned and surprised by this action. I was not. I believe that difference is why we drifted apart. I dropped my keys at the Jerry Bear Picnic yesterday. The audience had a grateful giggle when asked "has anyone seen any keys?" and waved their own keychains in the air. It was funny, even to me. Later that evening, I was called by a park Ranger. He informed me my keys were indeed turned in, and I have since picked them up. That such a family, dog, and child friendly event can still happen renews my faith in humanity. However this franchise promises discounts on sales commissions as well as the services needed for purchasing a house to veterans, first responders, teachers, health care providers and others that qualify. Titles, mortgages, legal services, and even some construction products and services may be discounted. Paperwork is promised to be streamlined. I'm a skeptic, so I looked things up. Homes for Heroes is a profitable operation, as is Duprey Real Estate. They do offer discounts and rebates for their qualifying customers, and the qualifications are written such that most people I know will qu...
