Get off the highway.

Cody, Wyoming to Wall, South Dakota.  is truly beautiful  and historic.  Steer and horses abound  on the grasslands.  Humor is required to break through the solitude.  Water and nature transform the landscape.  Blues and greens match  the beauty of the sea. There are some nice roads and pleasant views.

Yellowstone.

Butte-e-full.

Late in tonight, but we have internet! Picture blog, Seattle, Washington to Butte, Montana. Rivers surrounded by desert, irrigated farms, and eventually some small conifer forests. People and cars to show scale for the Wild Horse Monument .  They call this a casino. Maybe twenty slot machines and a huge restaurant and gift shop.

Life without internet.

Water.

I walked down to an Oregon fishing hole.   I ran into a few of the locals. Almost stepped on one!  This natural bridge was formed by lava tubes that allow the water to flow underground.  Something akin to Spanish Moss grows here. Then it was of to the snow peaked caps of Crater Lake.      These picture are not altered. The water is this blue because the lake is so deep it absorbs the other colors.  It is the deepest lake in the United States, and the greatest mean depth in North America  It is also quite beautiful.    We drove away in search of waterfalls.  A flash of white allowed me to find this hidden treasure.
